- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh garlic - 1 clove, minced (optional)
- Fresh cilantro - 1 tablespoon, chopped (optional)
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the warm water, yogurt, and olive oil until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.

- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 1 hour at room temperature.
- After resting, divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
- Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
- If using, sprinkle minced garlic and chopped cilantro on the rolled dough and gently press them in.
- Heat a skillet or tandoor over medium-high heat and place one naan in the skillet.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
