Ingredients

  • Chickpea flour (besan) - 100 grams
  • Coconut oil - 75 grams
  • Sugar - 100 grams
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch

Steps

  1. In a pan, heat the coconut oil on low flame until melted.
  2. Add the chickpea flour and roast it in the oil for about 8-10 minutes, stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and aromatic.
  3. In a separate pot, combine sugar and water and bring it to a boil until the sugar completely dissolves, forming a syrup.
  4. Add the cardamom powder and a pinch of salt to the syrup, mixing well.
  5. Slowly pour the hot sugar syrup into the roasted chickpea flour, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  6. Continue to cook the mixture on low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  7. Pour the mixture into a greased plate or tray and spread it evenly.
  8. Allow it to cool for about 15-20 minutes before cutting it into pieces.
