- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Green chilies - 2, finely chopped
- Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Skewers - 4 (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)
- Oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying kebabs)
- Tomato puree - 200 grams
- Coconut milk - 100 ml
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 150 ml
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine mutton mince, chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, coriander leaves, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Divide the marinated mutton mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion onto the skewers to form seekh kebabs.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and grill the kebabs until they are browned and cooked through, around 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the tomato puree, turmeric powder, and additional salt to taste. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Add the grilled kebabs to the tomato mixture, followed by coconut milk and water. Stir well to combine and simmer for another 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Finally, drizzle with lemon juice and garnish with additional coriander leaves before serving.
