Ingredients

  • Mutton mince - 300 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Green chilies - 2, finely chopped
  • Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Skewers - 4 (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying kebabs)
  • Tomato puree - 200 grams
  • Coconut milk - 100 ml
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 150 ml

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine mutton mince, chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, coriander leaves, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Divide the marinated mutton mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion onto the skewers to form seekh kebabs.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and grill the kebabs until they are browned and cooked through, around 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the tomato puree, turmeric powder, and additional salt to taste. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Add the grilled kebabs to the tomato mixture, followed by coconut milk and water. Stir well to combine and simmer for another 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Finally, drizzle with lemon juice and garnish with additional coriander leaves before serving.
