  • Tomato (chopped) - 2 medium
  • Green bell pepper (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Cooking oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat the cooking oil in a kadhai or heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  4. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and the oil starts to separate.
  6. Mix in the coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add the mutton pieces and sear them on high heat for about 5-7 minutes until they are browned on all sides.

  9. Once the mutton is cooked, add the sliced green bell pepper and garam masala. Cook uncovered for another 5 minutes.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
