- Mushrooms (button or cremini) - 300 grams
- Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium
- Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chickpea flour (besan) - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Oil (for brushing) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat (about 200°C or 400°F).
- Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and chop them coarsely.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped mushrooms, onion, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, green chili, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, chickpea flour, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix everything thoroughly until the mushrooms are well coated with the spices and the mixture holds together.
- Take skewers and mold the mushroom mixture around them, forming elongated shapes, similar to traditional seekh kebabs.
- Brush the skewers lightly with oil to prevent sticking.
- Place the skewers on the grill or in the oven and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Once done, remove from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or your favorite dipping sauce.
