- elk ground meat - 300 grams
- button mushrooms, finely chopped - 100 grams
- garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- red onion, finely chopped - 1 small
- fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- egg - 1 large
- almond flour - 2 tablespoons
- salt - 1 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- coconut oil - 1 tablespoon
- romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground elk meat, finely chopped mushrooms, minced garlic, red onion, chopped parsley, egg, almond flour, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
- Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the elk burgers wrapped in romaine lettuce leaves, adding additional toppings of your choice if desired.
