Ingredients

  • elk ground meat - 300 grams
  • button mushrooms, finely chopped - 100 grams
  • garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • red onion, finely chopped - 1 small
  • fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • egg - 1 large
  • almond flour - 2 tablespoons
  • salt - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • coconut oil - 1 tablespoon
  • romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground elk meat, finely chopped mushrooms, minced garlic, red onion, chopped parsley, egg, almond flour, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
  4. Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
  5. Serve the elk burgers wrapped in romaine lettuce leaves, adding additional toppings of your choice if desired.
