Ingredients
- Chicken breast - 300 grams
- Yogurt - 100 grams
- Cashew nuts (soaked) - 30 grams
- Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish) - a handful
Steps
- Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- In a blender, combine soaked cashew nuts, yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth.
- In a large bowl, add the chicken pieces and pour the marinade over them. Mix well to ensure all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.
- Preheat your grill or oven to 200°C (400°F). If using skewers, soak them in water for 15 minutes to prevent burning.
- Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers, brush with oil, and place them on the grill or in the oven.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a slight char.
- Remove from heat, garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and serve hot with mint chutney or yogurt dip.
