Ingredients
- Muktuk (whale skin and blubber) - 200 grams
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large leaves
- Red onion - 50 grams, thinly sliced
- Cucumber - 100 grams, julienned
- Carrot - 100 grams, julienned
- Fresh cilantro - 20 grams, chopped
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Begin by preparing the muktuk: rinse it under cold water and pat dry. Cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, combine the muktuk pieces, cumin powder, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- While the muktuk is marinating, prepare the vegetables: julienne the cucumber and carrot, and thinly slice the red onion.
- After marinating, heat a skillet over medium heat and add the muktuk. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is heated through and slightly crispy.
- To assemble the wraps, take a romaine lettuce leaf and place a portion of the cooked muktuk in the center. Add a handful of julienned cucumber, carrot, and some red onion slices.
- Sprinkle fresh cilantro on top and wrap the lettuce around the filling. Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling.
- Serve the Muktuk Wraps immediately with extra lemon wedges on the side.
