Methi Thepla with Yogurt

- Whole wheat flour - 150 grams
- Fresh fenugreek leaves (methi) - 50 grams, chopped
- Yogurt - 100 grams
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil - 1 tablespoon (for dough) + additional for cooking
- Water - as needed
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, chopped fenugreek leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, garam masala, and salt.
- Add 1 tablespoon of oil and mix well until the flour is crumbly.
- Gradually add water, kneading to form a soft and pliable dough. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
- On a floured surface, roll each ball into a thin circle (about 6-7 inches in diameter).
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook each thepla for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown, adding more oil as needed.
- Remove from heat and keep warm. Serve the methi theplas with yogurt on the side.
