Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
  • Fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves - 100 grams, chopped
  • Water - 100 ml (adjust as needed)
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee or oil - for cooking
  • Pickle (your choice) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, chopped methi leaves, salt, and cumin seeds.
  2. Gradually add water while kneading to form a smooth dough; cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  4. Flatten each ball slightly and roll it out into a circular shape, about 6-7 inches in diameter.
  5. Heat a skillet or tawa over medium heat; once hot, place the rolled paratha on it.
  6. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until small bubbles form on the surface, then flip it over.
  7. Spread a little ghee or oil on the cooked side and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions.
  9. Serve the methi parathas hot with pickle on the side.
