- Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
- Fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves - 100 grams, chopped
- Water - 100 ml (adjust as needed)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ghee or oil - for cooking
- Pickle (your choice) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, chopped methi leaves, salt, and cumin seeds.
- Gradually add water while kneading to form a smooth dough; cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
- Flatten each ball slightly and roll it out into a circular shape, about 6-7 inches in diameter.
- Heat a skillet or tawa over medium heat; once hot, place the rolled paratha on it.
- Cook for about 1-2 minutes until small bubbles form on the surface, then flip it over.
- Spread a little ghee or oil on the cooked side and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions.
- Serve the methi parathas hot with pickle on the side.
