Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
  • Fresh methi (fenugreek leaves) - 50 grams
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - as needed (approximately 100-150 ml)
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons (for cooking)
  • Curd (yogurt) - 150 grams
  • Coriander leaves - for garnish (optional)

Steps

  1. Wash the fresh methi leaves thoroughly and chop them finely.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chopped methi leaves, cumin seeds, and salt.
  3. Gradually add water to the flour mixture, kneading until a smooth and soft dough forms. Cover it and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a circular shape, about 6-7 inches in diameter.
  6. Heat a tawa or skillet over medium heat. Cook each paratha, applying a little oil on both sides, until golden brown and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Serve the methi parathas hot with a bowl of fresh curd and garnish with chopped coriander leaves if desired.
