- Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
- Fresh methi (fenugreek leaves) - 50 grams
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - as needed (approximately 100-150 ml)
- Oil - 2 tablespoons (for cooking)
- Curd (yogurt) - 150 grams
- Coriander leaves - for garnish (optional)
Steps
- Wash the fresh methi leaves thoroughly and chop them finely.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chopped methi leaves, cumin seeds, and salt.
- Gradually add water to the flour mixture, kneading until a smooth and soft dough forms. Cover it and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
- On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a circular shape, about 6-7 inches in diameter.
- Heat a tawa or skillet over medium heat. Cook each paratha, applying a little oil on both sides, until golden brown and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Serve the methi parathas hot with a bowl of fresh curd and garnish with chopped coriander leaves if desired.
