- Besan (gram flour) - 1/4 cup
- Fresh methi (fenugreek leaves) - 1 cup, chopped
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - as needed
- Oil - for cooking
- Yogurt - 2 tablespoons (for serving)
- Pickle - 2 tablespoons (for serving)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, besan, chopped methi leaves, turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- Gradually add water and knead the mixture into a smooth and pliable dough.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape them into balls.
- Dust a flat surface with rice flour and roll each ball into a thin circle (paratha).
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil.
- Place the rolled paratha on the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, adding oil as needed until golden brown.
- Remove the paratha from the skillet and keep it warm in a cloth.
- Repeat with the remaining dough portions.
- To serve, place a paratha on a plate, add a dollop of yogurt and some pickle, and roll it up.
