- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Water - as needed
- Oil - for deep frying
Steps
- Wash and chop the fresh fenugreek leaves and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- Add the finely chopped onion, green chili, and grated ginger to the flour mixture.
- Mix in the chopped fenugreek leaves until well coated with the flour.
- Gradually add water to form a thick batter, ensuring it is not too runny.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the pakoras until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove the pakoras using a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
