- Fresh methi leaves - 100 grams
- Paneer - 200 grams

- Tomato - 1 medium, pureed
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Green chili - 1, slit
- Heavy cream - 100 ml
- Ghee - 2 tablespoons
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 100 ml
Steps
- Wash the fresh methi leaves thoroughly and chop them coarsely.
- Cut the paneer into bite-sized cubes and set aside.
- In a pan, heat the ghee over medium heat and add the cumin seeds. Let them crackle.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chili, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the tomato puree and cook until the oil starts to separate from the mixture.
- Sprinkle in the turmeric powder and salt, mixing well.
- Add the chopped methi leaves, stirring until they wilt down, about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Add the paneer cubes to the pan, gently folding them into the sauce.
- Reduce the heat, then stir in the heavy cream and garam masala, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving hot.
