Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams, diced
  • Fresh methi (fenugreek leaves) - 50 grams, chopped
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Green chili - 1, slit
  • Tomato - 1 medium, pureed
  • Heavy cream - 100 milliliters
  • Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat and add cumin seeds. Allow them to splutter.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and slit green chili, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the diced chicken pieces, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink.
  5. Pour in the tomato puree and mix well, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Add the chopped methi leaves and mix into the chicken. Cook for another 3 minutes until the methi wilts.
  7. Reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  8. Finish with garam masala and garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
