Ingredients

  • Fresh fenugreek leaves - 100 grams
  • Whole wheat flour - 100 grams
  • Jaggery (grated) - 50 grams
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 30 grams
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped nuts (almonds or walnuts) - 20 grams
  • Salt - a pinch

Steps

  1. Wash the fresh fenugreek leaves thoroughly and chop them finely.
  2. In a pan, heat 15 grams of ghee over medium heat and sauté the chopped fenugreek leaves until they wilt and the moisture evaporates, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the whole wheat flour to the pan and roast it on low heat until it turns slightly golden and aromatic, stirring continuously for about 8-10 minutes.
  4. In a separate pan, melt the grated jaggery with a splash of water until it dissolves and becomes syrupy.
  5. Once the flour mixture is roasted, pour the melted jaggery into it and mix well.
  6. Add the remaining ghee, cardamom powder, chopped nuts, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything until well combined.
  7. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then grease your palms with ghee and form small ladoos (balls) by rolling the mixture between your hands.
  8. Let the ladoos cool completely before serving.
