Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams, boneless and skinless
  • Fresh methi leaves (fenugreek) - 50 grams, chopped
  • Plain yogurt - 100 grams
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Skewers - 2 (soaked in water if wooden)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and cooking oil to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chopped methi leaves to the marinade and mix well.
  3. Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your grill or oven to 200°C (about 400°F).
  5. Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.
  6. Place the skewers on the grill or a baking tray and cook for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.
  7. Remove from the grill, let it rest for a few minutes, and serve hot with mint chutney or lemon wedges.
