Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 200 grams (minced)
  • Fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves - 50 grams (chopped)
  • Onion - 1 medium (finely chopped)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves (minced)
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece (grated)
  • Green chili - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 (beaten)
  • Bread crumbs - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (for cooking)
  • Burger buns - 2 (whole wheat preferred)
  • Tomato - 1 (sliced)
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Yogurt - 2 tablespoons (for serving)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced chicken, chopped methi leaves, onion, garlic, ginger, green chili, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt, black pepper, beaten egg, and bread crumbs. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in the same skillet until golden.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked chicken patty, a slice of tomato, and a dollop of yogurt. Top with the other half of the bun.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
