- Chicken thighs - 300 grams, boneless and skinless
- Fresh methi leaves (fenugreek) - 100 grams, washed and chopped
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Tomato - 1 medium, chopped
- Green chili - 1, slit
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and allow them to splutter.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chili, cooking for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chopped tomato, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften and the oil separates.
- Add the chicken pieces to the pan, mixing well to coat them with the spices. Cook for 5 minutes until the chicken is no longer pink.
- Stir in the chopped methi leaves and cover the pan. Cook on low heat for about 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala over the dish, mix well, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
