  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon

  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Cilantro - for garnish (optional)

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chili; cook for another minute.
  4. Add diced tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  5. Sprinkle in turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt; mix well.
  6. Add the cooked chickpeas and stir to combine with the spice mixture.
  7. Fold in the chopped fenugreek leaves and cook for 5-7 minutes until they wilt.
  8. Finish with garam masala and stir well. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
