Ingredients

  • Fish fillets (such as salmon or tilapia) - 300 grams
  • Plain yogurt - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish
  • Lemon wedges - for serving

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the plain yogurt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to create the marinade.
  2. Add the fish fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  3. Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat. If using an oven, preheat it to 200°C (400°F).
  4. Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the marinated fish fillets on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  5. Once cooked, remove the fish from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
