- Paneer - 200 grams
- Potato - 1 medium (about 150 grams)
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Yogurt - 4 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Boil the potato in water until tender, then peel and mash it.
- In a mixing bowl, crumble the paneer and add the mashed potato, chopped onion, green chili, ginger, garlic, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt, and fresh coriander leaves. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat, and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl.
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns lightly on a skillet or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the paneer patty, slices of tomato and cucumber, and a generous spoonful of yogurt sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your choice of side salad or baked sweet potato fries.
