Ingredients

  • Venison steaks - 300 grams
  • Pure maple syrup - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh rosemary - 1 teaspoon, chopped
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place the venison steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated. Allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the venison from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later. Place the venison steaks in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, pour the reserved marinade over the steaks and allow it to caramelize slightly.
  6. Remove the venison from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  7. Garnish with fresh thyme before serving.
