- Carrots - 300 grams, peeled and cut into sticks
- Pure maple syrup - 2 tablespoons
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 tablespoon
- Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- In a medium saucepan, bring salted water to a boil and add the carrot sticks. Blanch for 5 minutes until slightly tender, then drain and set aside.
- In the same saucepan, heat ghee over medium heat. Add the blanched carrots and sauté for 5 minutes until they begin to lightly caramelize.
- Pour in the maple syrup, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the carrots evenly.
- Continue to cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing the syrup to glaze the carrots and thicken slightly.
- Remove from heat and transfer the glazed carrots to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
