- Ripe mango puree - 150 grams
- Khoya (dried evaporated milk) - 100 grams
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tablespoons
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Chopped nuts (cashews and almonds) - 2 tablespoons
- Saffron strands - a pinch
Steps
- In a non-stick pan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee on low flame.
- Add khoya to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously until it softens.
- Pour in the mango puree and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes on low heat.
- Add sugar and continue stirring until it dissolves completely.
- Sprinkle in the cardamom powder and saffron strands, mixing thoroughly.
- Cook the mixture until it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan, about 10-12 minutes.
- Grease a plate with the remaining ghee and pour the thickened mixture onto it, spreading it evenly.
- Garnish with chopped nuts, pressing them gently into the surface.
- Allow it to cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour, then cut into desired shapes and serve.
