Ingredients

  • Ripe mango puree - 150 grams
  • Khoya (dried evaporated milk) - 100 grams
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chopped nuts (cashews and almonds) - 2 tablespoons
  • Saffron strands - a pinch

Steps

  1. In a non-stick pan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee on low flame.
  2. Add khoya to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously until it softens.
  3. Pour in the mango puree and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes on low heat.
  4. Add sugar and continue stirring until it dissolves completely.
  5. Sprinkle in the cardamom powder and saffron strands, mixing thoroughly.
  6. Cook the mixture until it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan, about 10-12 minutes.
  7. Grease a plate with the remaining ghee and pour the thickened mixture onto it, spreading it evenly.
  8. Garnish with chopped nuts, pressing them gently into the surface.
  9. Allow it to cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour, then cut into desired shapes and serve.
