Ingredients
- Long-grain rice - 1 cup (200 grams)
- Fresh grated coconut - 1/2 cup (50 grams)
- Water - 3 cups (720 ml)
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil - for cooking (optional)
Steps
- Rinse the long-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 30 minutes.
- After soaking, drain the rice and blend it with the fresh grated coconut and 2 cups of water until you achieve a smooth batter.
- Add the remaining 1 cup of water and salt to the batter, mixing well to ensure a thin consistency.
- Heat a non-stick pan or a flat griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil if desired.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the hot pan, swirling it around to form a thin, even layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the edges start to lift and the surface appears set.
- Carefully remove the dosa and repeat the process with the remaining batter, stacking the dosas on a plate.
- Serve the Neer Dosas warm with coconut chutney or any curry of your choice.
