Ingredients

  • Long-grain rice - 1 cup (200 grams)
  • Fresh grated coconut - 1/2 cup (50 grams)
  • Water - 3 cups (720 ml)
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil - for cooking (optional)

Steps

  1. Rinse the long-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. After soaking, drain the rice and blend it with the fresh grated coconut and 2 cups of water until you achieve a smooth batter.
  3. Add the remaining 1 cup of water and salt to the batter, mixing well to ensure a thin consistency.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan or a flat griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil if desired.
  5. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the hot pan, swirling it around to form a thin, even layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the edges start to lift and the surface appears set.
  6. Carefully remove the dosa and repeat the process with the remaining batter, stacking the dosas on a plate.
  7. Serve the Neer Dosas warm with coconut chutney or any curry of your choice.
