Ingredients

  • Sabudana (tapioca pearls) - 1 cup
  • Peanuts (roasted and coarsely ground) - 1/4 cup
  • Potato (medium, boiled and diced) - 1
  • Green chilies (finely chopped) - 1-2
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee or oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the sabudana under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in enough water to just cover the pearls for about 4-6 hours or overnight.
  2. After soaking, drain any excess water and let the sabudana sit for 10-15 minutes to allow it to become fluffy.
  3. In a pan, heat ghee or oil over medium heat and add cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add chopped green chilies and sauté for a minute.
  4. Add the boiled and diced potato to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly golden.
  5. Add the soaked sabudana to the pan and stir gently, ensuring the pearls do not break. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the coarsely ground peanuts and salt, mixing well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is combined and heated through.
  7. Remove from heat, add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice, and mix well before serving.
