Ingredients
- Rice flour - 100 grams
- Water - 150 ml
- Grated coconut - 50 grams
- Jaggery - 40 grams
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Oil - for greasing
Steps
- In a saucepan, combine the grated coconut, jaggery, and cardamom powder. Cook over low heat until the jaggery melts and mixes well with the coconut. Set aside to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth, pliable dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a lemon. Flatten each ball into a small disc using your fingers.
- Place a teaspoon of the coconut-jaggery filling in the center of each disc. Carefully fold the edges over to seal the filling inside, shaping it into a half-moon or round dumpling.
- Grease a steamer plate with a little oil and arrange the filled dumplings on it. Steam for about 10-15 minutes until they are cooked and glossy.
- Remove the dumplings from the steamer and serve warm, enjoying the sweet, fragrant flavors.
