  • Rice flour - 50 grams
  • Green chilies - 2, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 inch, grated
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Oil - for frying
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Onion - 1, sliced
  • Green chutney - for spreading
  • Yogurt - 2 tablespoons (optional, for serving)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpea flour, rice flour, chopped coriander, green chilies, grated ginger, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the mixture and stir until you achieve a thick batter consistency.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased steaming dish or a plate and spread it evenly.
  4. Steam the mixture for about 15-20 minutes until it is firm and cooked through.
  5. Once cooled, cut the steamed mixture into burger-sized patties.
  6. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and shallow fry the patties until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  7. Toast the burger buns lightly on the same pan.
  8. Assemble the burger by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of the bun, followed by the fried patty, tomato slices, onion slices, and a spread of green chutney. Top with the other half of the bun.
  9. Serve with a side of yogurt if desired.
