- Fresh coriander leaves - 200 grams, finely chopped
- Chickpea flour (besan) - 100 grams
- Rice flour - 25 grams
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 200 ml
- Oil - 1 tablespoon, for greasing
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpea flour, rice flour, chopped coriander, green chili, grated ginger, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring continuously to avoid lumps, until you achieve a smooth batter.
- Mix in the lemon juice and ensure all ingredients are well combined.
- Grease a steaming tray or a shallow dish with oil and pour the batter into it, spreading it evenly.
- Prepare a steamer by boiling water in a pot. Once boiling, place the tray with the batter into the steamer.
- Cover and steam for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Once done, remove the tray from the steamer and let it cool slightly before cutting it into squares.
- Serve hot with chutney or your choice of dip.
