- Chicken, boneless - 250 grams
- Yogurt - 100 grams
- Onion, finely sliced - 1 medium (about 100 grams)
- Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon
- Green chili, slit - 1
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cashew nuts - 30 grams
- Cream - 50 ml
- Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Cilantro, chopped - for garnish
Steps
- Soak the cashew nuts in warm water for 15 minutes, then drain and blend them into a smooth paste using a little water.
- Marinate the chicken pieces in yogurt, garlic paste, ginger paste, garam masala, ground coriander, ground cumin, turmeric powder, and salt for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat the cooking oil in a heavy pan over medium heat, and add the sliced onions. Sauté until they are golden brown.
- Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until the chicken is browned on all sides.
- Stir in the green chili and cashew paste, cooking for another 5 minutes.
- Add a cup of water, cover the pan, and let it simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Stir in the cream, mix well, and adjust salt if needed. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
