- Garlic (minced) - 4 cloves
- Ginger (grated) - 1 inch piece
- Green chilies (slit) - 2
- Tomato (pureed) - 1 medium
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Konkani spice mix (coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala) - 2 teaspoons
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - for garnish
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and slit green chilies. Sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the tomato puree and cook for 3-4 minutes until the oil starts to separate from the mixture.
- Add the Konkani spice mix and salt, and cook for an additional minute to toast the spices.
- Add the crab pieces to the pan, stirring well to coat them with the spice mixture. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the crab starts to turn opaque.
- Pour in the coconut milk, bring to a gentle simmer, and cover the pan. Let it cook for 10-12 minutes until the crab is fully cooked and tender.
- Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
