Ingredients
- Fish fillet (preferably Bhetki or any white fish) - 200 grams
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Rice flour - 1/4 cup
- Gram flour - 1/4 cup
- Water - as needed
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Oil (for frying) - 1/2 cup
- Burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2 leaves
- Onion (sliced) - 1 small
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 small
- Cilantro-mint chutney - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a bowl, marinate the fish fillet with lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix rice flour and gram flour, adding enough water to form a smooth batter.
- Coat the marinated fish fillet in the batter, then roll it in breadcrumbs to create a crispy layer.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the coated fish fillet in the oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- While the fish is frying, toast the burger buns lightly on a pan.
- Assemble the burger by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the fried fish fillet, sliced onion, and tomato. Drizzle cilantro-mint chutney over the top and cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve immediately while hot with extra chutney on the side.
