Ingredients

  • Basa fish fillet - 200 grams
  • Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
  • Rice flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Egg - 1 (beaten)
  • Oil - for frying
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1 (sliced)
  • Onion - 1 (sliced)
  • Mustard sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Coriander leaves - a handful (chopped)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the basa fish fillet, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. After marinating, mash the fish mixture lightly with a fork and shape it into two patties.
  3. Dredge each patty in rice flour, dip them into the beaten egg, and then coat them with bread crumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, fry the fish patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly on the same pan until golden.
  6. Assemble the burger by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of the bun, followed by the fish patty, sliced tomatoes, onions, and a drizzle of mustard sauce. Top with chopped coriander leaves and close with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
