Ingredients

  • Vermicelli - 50 grams
  • Full-fat milk - 500 ml
  • Sugar - 3 tablespoons
  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chopped almonds - 2 tablespoons
  • Chopped cashews - 2 tablespoons
  • Raisins - 1 tablespoon
  • Saffron strands - a pinch
  • Water - 1/2 cup

Steps

  1. In a pan, heat the ghee over medium heat and add the vermicelli. Roast until golden brown, stirring frequently.
  2. Add the water to the pan and let it simmer until the vermicelli absorbs the water and becomes tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Pour in the full-fat milk and bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once the milk starts to thicken, add sugar and cardamom powder, and mix well.
  5. Add the saffron strands, chopped almonds, cashews, and raisins, and let it simmer for another 5-7 minutes until it reaches your desired consistency.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or chilled.
