Ingredients
- Roasted rice flour - 100 grams
- Jaggery (grated) - 75 grams
- Full-fat milk - 100 ml
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 tablespoon
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped nuts (almonds and pistachios) - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee over medium heat until melted.
- Add the roasted rice flour to the pan and sauté it for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously until it turns slightly golden and aromatic.
- Add the grated jaggery and milk to the pan, stirring continuously until the jaggery completely dissolves.
- Add the cardamom powder and salt, and mix well until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly until it is safe to handle.
- Grease your palms with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small round pedas.
- Roll the pedas in chopped nuts for added texture and garnish.
- Allow the pedas to cool completely before serving.
