Ingredients

  • Cashew nuts - 100 grams
  • Kharwa (jaggery) - 50 grams
  • Ghee - 2 teaspoons
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 2 tablespoons
  • Sliced almonds - for garnish

Steps

  1. Soak the cashew nuts in water for 2 hours, then drain and blend them into a smooth paste using a little water if necessary.
  2. In a pan, add the kharwa (jaggery) and water, and heat on low until the jaggery dissolves completely, stirring continuously.
  3. Once the jaggery syrup reaches a one-string consistency, add the cashew paste and ghee to the pan.
  4. Mix well and cook on low heat for about 8-10 minutes, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  5. Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
  6. Transfer the mixture onto a greased plate or parchment paper, and flatten it evenly using a spatula or your hands.
  7. Allow it to cool for about 10-15 minutes, then cut into diamond or square shapes.
  8. Garnish with sliced almonds and let it cool completely before serving.
