- Rice flour - 50 grams
- Jaggery - 75 grams, grated
- Ghee - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 250 milliliters
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Chopped nuts (almonds and cashews) - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- In a saucepan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the chopped nuts and sauté until golden brown, then remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the rice flour and roast it on low heat for about 5-7 minutes until it turns slightly golden and fragrant.
- Pour in the water gradually, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens.
- Add the grated jaggery and salt to the mixture, stirring well until the jaggery melts completely.
- Sprinkle in the cardamom powder and mix thoroughly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the halwa reaches your desired consistency.
- Garnish with the sautéed nuts and serve warm.
