- Rice flour - 100 grams
- Jaggery (grated) - 50 grams
- Curd (yogurt) - 50 grams
- Water - 100 ml
- Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Coconut (grated, for garnish) - 2 tablespoons
- Chopped nuts (cashews, almonds) - 1 tablespoon
- Ghee (for greasing) - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, jaggery, curd, and water. Mix until smooth and lump-free.
- Add baking soda and cardamom powder to the mixture, and stir well to incorporate.
- Grease a steaming dish or plate with ghee to prevent sticking.
- Pour the batter into the greased dish and spread it evenly.
- Fill a steamer with water and bring it to a boil. Place the dish with the batter in the steamer.
- Cover and steam for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once cooked, remove from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Cut into squares or diamond shapes, garnish with grated coconut and chopped nuts, and serve warm.
