Ingredients

  • Rice flour - 100 grams
  • Jaggery (grated) - 80 grams
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 30 grams
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped nuts (almonds and cashews) - 30 grams
  • Water - 100 ml

Steps

  1. In a pan, heat the ghee on low flame and add the chopped nuts. Sauté until they are golden brown, then remove them and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add the grated jaggery and water. Stir continuously on low heat until the jaggery dissolves completely.
  3. Gradually add the rice flour while stirring to avoid lumps. Mix well until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  4. Add the cardamom powder and sauté for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring everything is well combined.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in the sautéed nuts, reserving a few for garnish.
  6. Grease a flat plate or tray with ghee and pour the mixture onto it. Spread it evenly with a spatula.
  7. Allow it to cool for about 10-15 minutes, then cut into desired shapes (squares or diamonds).
  8. Garnish with reserved nuts and let it set completely before serving.
