- Fish fillets (preferably tilapia or cod) - 300 grams
- Rice flour - 4 tablespoons
- Besan (gram flour) - 2 tablespoons
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Oil for frying - 100 ml
Steps
- Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, besan, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt.
- Add lemon juice and mix well to form a smooth paste. If needed, add a little water to achieve a batter-like consistency.
- Coat each fish fillet with the spice mixture, ensuring an even layer on both sides. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, gently place the marinated fish fillets in the oil.
- Fry the fish for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fish from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges.
