Ingredients
- Chickpea flour (besan) - 100 grams
- Jaggery (grated) - 80 grams
- Ghee - 2 tablespoons
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped nuts (almonds, cashews) - 30 grams
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- In a non-stick pan, heat 2 tablespoons of ghee on low heat.
- Add 100 grams of chickpea flour and roast it while stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma, approximately 8-10 minutes.
- In another saucepan, melt 80 grams of grated jaggery with 2 tablespoons of water over low heat until it forms a syrup. This should take about 5 minutes.
- Once the jaggery melts, add a pinch of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder, and mix well.
- Pour the melted jaggery syrup into the roasted chickpea flour mixture, stirring quickly to combine thoroughly.
- Add 30 grams of chopped nuts and mix until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased plate or tray and flatten it with the back of a spatula to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Allow it to cool for 15-20 minutes, then cut into pieces and serve.
