- Chickpeas (dry) - 100 grams
- Water - 500 ml
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Soak the dry chickpeas in water overnight or for at least 8 hours.
- Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas, then boil them in fresh water for about 20 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
- In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the boiled chickpeas to the pan and stir well to coat them with the oil and spices.
- Sprinkle the coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and black pepper over the chickpeas. Stir well to combine and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the chickpeas are slightly crispy.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves and lemon juice before serving.
