Ingredients

  • Chickpeas (dry) - 100 grams
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Soak the dry chickpeas in water overnight or for at least 8 hours.
  2. Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas, then boil them in fresh water for about 20 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the boiled chickpeas to the pan and stir well to coat them with the oil and spices.
  5. Sprinkle the coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and black pepper over the chickpeas. Stir well to combine and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the chickpeas are slightly crispy.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves and lemon juice before serving.
