Ingredients

  • Prawns, peeled and deveined - 200 grams
  • Almond flour - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chili, finely chopped - 1 small
  • Cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons for frying
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wraps)
  • Sliced cucumber - 1/2 small
  • Sliced tomato - 1 small
  • Lemon wedges - 2 (for serving)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the prawns, almond flour, egg, ginger, garlic, green chili, cilantro, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  2. Using your hands, shape the mixture into burger-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat coconut oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the prawn patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. These will serve as your burger wraps.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the pan and let them drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  6. To assemble, place a prawn patty in the center of a lettuce leaf, top with sliced cucumber and tomato, and serve with a lemon wedge on the side.
  7. Enjoy your Keto Prawn Vada immediately while warm!
