Ingredients

  • Prawns (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams
  • Almond flour - 100 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 2 tablespoons
  • Oil (for frying) - 200 ml

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the egg and add it to the dry ingredients along with 2 tablespoons of water. Mix until you have a smooth batter.
  3. Add the cleaned prawns to the batter and ensure they are well coated.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the prawn batter mixture into the oil.
  6. Fry the pakoras in batches for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.
  7. Remove the pakoras from the oil and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  8. Serve hot with a side of keto-friendly mint chutney or yogurt dip.
