- Almond flour - 50 grams
- Coconut flour - 25 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Coconut oil (for frying) - 200 ml
- Fresh coriander (for garnish) - a handful
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the prawns with ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg until frothy.
- In a separate plate, combine almond flour and coconut flour.
- Heat coconut oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Take each marinated prawn, dip it into the whisked egg, then coat it in the flour mixture. Ensure the prawns are well-coated.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated prawns in the oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the fried prawns and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with a low-carb dip or chutney.
