Ingredients

  • Prawns (peeled and deveined) - 250 grams
  • Almond flour - 50 grams
  • Coconut flour - 25 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Coconut oil (for frying) - 200 ml
  • Fresh coriander (for garnish) - a handful

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the prawns with ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the egg until frothy.
  3. In a separate plate, combine almond flour and coconut flour.
  4. Heat coconut oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Take each marinated prawn, dip it into the whisked egg, then coat it in the flour mixture. Ensure the prawns are well-coated.
  6. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated prawns in the oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove the fried prawns and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with a low-carb dip or chutney.
