Ingredients

  • Green moong dal - 100 grams
  • Water - 250 ml (for soaking)
  • Water - 100 ml (for blending)
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece
  • Green chili - 1, chopped
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons (for cooking)
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (optional for garnish)

Steps

  1. Rinse the green moong dal under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Soak the dal in 250 ml of water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. After soaking, drain the water and add the dal to a blender along with 100 ml of fresh water, ginger, green chili, cumin seeds, and salt.
  4. Blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth, pancake batter-like consistency. You may add more water if needed.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet or tawa over medium heat and grease it with 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil.
  6. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
  7. Drizzle 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil around the edges and cook until the bottom turns golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Flip the dosa and cook the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  9. Repeat the process for the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
  10. Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro, alongside keto-friendly chutney or yogurt.
