Ingredients
- Green moong dal - 100 grams
- Water - 250 ml (for soaking)
- Water - 100 ml (for blending)
- Ginger - 1 inch piece
- Green chili - 1, chopped
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons (for cooking)
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (optional for garnish)
Steps
- Rinse the green moong dal under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Soak the dal in 250 ml of water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- After soaking, drain the water and add the dal to a blender along with 100 ml of fresh water, ginger, green chili, cumin seeds, and salt.
- Blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth, pancake batter-like consistency. You may add more water if needed.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or tawa over medium heat and grease it with 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
- Drizzle 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil around the edges and cook until the bottom turns golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the dosa and cook the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Repeat the process for the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro, alongside keto-friendly chutney or yogurt.
