- Green gram (mung beans) - 150 grams
- Water - 500 ml
- Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2, sliced
- Cilantro chutney - 4 tablespoons
- Avocado - 1, sliced
Steps
- Soak the mung beans in water for at least 4 hours or overnight to soften.
- Drain the soaked mung beans and blend them with water, ginger paste, green chili, cumin seeds, and salt to form a smooth batter.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet and spread it into a round patty shape. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Repeat for the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
- Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing a mung bean patty on a lettuce leaf, followed by slices of tomato, cucumber, red onion, and avocado.
- Top with cilantro chutney and another lettuce leaf to complete the burger.
