  • Water - 200 ml
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons (for cooking)

Steps

  1. Rinse the green moong dal under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain the soaked dal and transfer it to a blender. Add 200 ml of fresh water, ginger, green chili, cumin seeds, and salt. Blend until you achieve a smooth batter.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil.
  4. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet and spread it into a thin, even circle.
  5. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then drizzle another 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil around the edges.

  7. Serve hot with coconut chutney or sliced avocado, and garnish with fresh coriander leaves if desired.
