Ingredients

  • Moong dal (split green gram) - 100 grams
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil (for cooking) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the moong dal under cold water and soak it in water for at least 2 hours.
  2. Drain the soaked dal and blend it with 200 ml of water, ginger, green chili, cumin powder, and salt until you achieve a smooth batter.
  3. Stir in the chopped coriander leaves into the batter.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil.
  5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the skillet and spread it into a thin circle.
  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side.
  7. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding oil as necessary.
  8. Serve hot with low-carb chutney or yogurt.
